CAN DRUMMING RESET THE MIND?

FIND YOUR FOCUS
Rhythm gives the brain something to follow. A steady beat combines listening, timing, repetition, and movement creating a structure that may help us stay engaged and present. Research on rhythm training points to gains in focus and concentration and regular drumming puts that idea into practice. I study that research, and now I teach with it.
TURN DOWN
THE NOISE
When your mind feels busy, rhythm can give it somewhere to go. Playing drums requires you to listen, move, repeat, and stay in the moment, and group drumming has been linked to lower stress and better mood. Find steady behind the drum kit, and you can learn to bring it anywhere.

RHYTHM
FOR THE RESTLESS
For people with ADHD, restlessness, or difficulty staying engaged, sitting still isn't always the answer. Drumming offers a different kind of focus one that puts movement to work: the body keeps time, the sound answers back, and attention has something to follow. Rhythm can give an active mind something meaningful to lock onto.
